The IMII is inviting applications for its 2020 DEMOday and Innovation Award being held on April 21st at the 12th Annual Saskatchewan Mining Supply Chain Forum.

IMII has released a new video that showcases the importance and benefits of DEMOday and the Innovation Award.  Visit https://www.imii.ca/demoday

Saskatchewan mining suppliers selected to participate in DEMOday 2020 will present their technologies to a panel of experts from IMII’s principal minerals companies’ members – BHP, Cameco, K+S Potash, Mosaic and Nutrien. Applications for innovations in the following categories will be accepted:

  • Safety innovation – applying technology or improving processes in innovative ways, above and beyond mandatory requirements, to improve mine worker safety and health
  • Technical innovation – improving productivity through advances in automation, digitalization, electrification, drones and smart sensors
  • Green innovation – technologies for increasing efficiency of assets, strengthening recovery rates, reducing releases of wastes, lessening consumption of energy and water

For the first time, the Innovation Award will be selected from among DEMOday applications and announced during the Saskatchewan Mining Supply Chain’s evening banquet at the Western Development Museum on April 21, 2020.

DEMOday applications are open to any mining supply chain company that develops advanced or innovative technologies (including concepts, prototypes, products, methods or services) to meet the needs of Saskatchewan’s minerals industry. Innovative supply chain companies contribute to making the province a strong and growing economy and have a positive impact in our industry and communities.

All submissions are to be received by IMII by February 3, 2020, at 11:00 pm and will undergo a merit-review selection process involving representatives of IMII member companies.
