The IMII School of Mining is a three‑day, immersive, high‑quality training experience designed for early‑career mining professionals (up to five years of experience) or those wishing to enter the mining and minerals sector. Participants will gain a strong foundational understanding of Saskatchewan mining while building connections with industry professionals and peers.
Course Content and Schedule:
Delivered by a combination of experienced professionals from IMII member companies, academic experts from leading institutions, and industry-leading specialists across mining disciplines, this course brings a unique blend of perspectives that aims to strengthen the mining talent pipeline and enhance industry‑academic collaboration.

- Saskatchewan geology fundamentals
- Underground mining (shafts, tunnels, stability)
- Potash and uranium mining methods
- In situ mining techniques
- Processing fundamentals (potash, uranium & emerging)
- Site infrastructure and remote operations
- Mining footprint, closure, and environmental considerations
- The business of mining
- Mine development, permitting, and regulatory frameworks
- Mine safety and industry regulations
- Innovation and emerging technologies in mining
