International Minerals Innovation Institute

On October 1st, the International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII) is initiating a one-time reopening of the application process for the iMpowered scholarships for the 2022 winter academic session.

The scholarship is designed for women inclusive of those identifying as female, and for Indigenous people (any gender), who are pursuing a post-secondary program relevant to mining, want to work in the Saskatchewan mining industry, and have a financial responsibility to their family.

“The IMII is proud to support students pursuing academic studies in the mining sector and we are in a unique position to be able to offer a second round of scholarships this year,” says Al Shpyth, Executive Director of IMII.

The scholarship is typically awarded once a year for the current academic year and has a value up to $25,000.  But for the upcoming winter session, IMII has the potential to award four more scholarships up to $12,500 each.  Applications open on October 1st and close on November 30th.
